How does Electrocat™ work?
Accentus plc have designed and developed the
Electrocat DPF as a fully integrated system combining
an effective particulate trap with the application
of electronic plasma to destroy the
trapped particulates. The key system components
are:
- Advanced plasma regenerated particulate filter
- Highly efficient Power Supply Unit providing
the required voltage from vehicle electrical
supply in order to generate plasma.The Electrocat
particulate filter can be packaged into the
same space as an existing exhaust silencer.
The highly efficient particulate filter will
trap in excess of 90% of all carbon based particulates.
The application of the plasma, which
can be electronically controlled, promotes a
chemical oxidation reaction that destroys the
pollutants trapped in the filter.
